In the Parish School of Religion (PSR) we strive to proclaim the Faith to the young people of our parish and their families, leading them to a deeper understanding of, and encounter with, our Lord Jesus Christ. Passing on the light of faith to the next generation is one of the primary roles of the People of God, called to live out our missionary mandate to "Go out to all the world and preach the Good News." (Mt 28:19)

Program Description/Goals

Our program seeks to implement its mission of lifelong faith formation by:

Moving beyond the classroom model of catechesis, creating an interactive community environment, utilizing varied learning methods including art, drama and role playing as well as traditional instruction.

Using as its central focus the Sunday Liturgy, connecting our young people to the very life of Christ in His people, His Word, and in His Body and Blood.

Extending the role of catechist to the whole community, involving not only "teacher" and "student" but parents, families, and every member of the parish community in the ministry of faith formation.

Highlights of the program include weekly Liturgy of the Word for Children, periodic "Family Faith Formation Days" - a time of learning and fun for the whole family, an active Children's Ministry and a dedicated and dynamic group of catechists. It is our prayer that the efforts of our program will help your children to grow "in wisdom and grace" and will be a blessing to you and your families.
